Brief: For this project, we were tasked with updating an existing brand and implementing the new elements into both a desktop and mobile platform. Cartoon Network, a popular kids television channel, has gone through several changes over the last three decades, covering several artistic styles. This redesign focuses on the minimal animation styles and vibrant colors from a brand who's audience ranges from children to young adults.
To begin, a colorful, gradient-infused logo was created with the idea of phone app in mind. The iconic "CN" are combined into a single shape while remaining distinctly independent and noticeable. The color palette required a subtle update with the incorporation and minimal use of secondary colors. The phone app was created first and was designed with the user in mind. Main pages were created to highlight the most prominent features of Cartoon Network (shows, games, art challenges, and account information). Custom icons were designed to be self-explanatory, assisting in the user experience as they explore the site.

For this rebrand, the focus was primarily on building a functional and aesthetically pleasing UI for a company of our choosing. Cartoon Network had many positive aspects of its brand but the mobile and desktop interfaces were far too busy and distracting. To begin the rebrand, a modernized logo was created with the idea of an app icon in mind. The typefaces and secondary elements were created to complement the new look, incorporating the brand colors and stylized gradients. Icons including a customizable account icon were made to direct users more efficiently while making the interface more enjoyable for the young audience. Lastly, Adobe XD was used to create the overall interface with interactive buttons to simulate mobile and desktop usage.
